We have three courses to choose from:

Each course runs for two or three consecutive days starting at 10.30 am  and finishing at 3.30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Booths is across the road where you can buy hot or cold snacks or bring your own packed lunch.
 

Make an Oval Trinket Box 3 Day Workshop £295

Make a Trinket Box with a bezel set cabochon on top. No previous experience required. Maximum of 4 people. You can choose from round or oval and select from a list of stone cabochons prior to the course start date, examples of which are garnet, topaz, moonstone, amethyst and many more. All tools and materials for the courses are provided. You will learn all the basic techniques required to complete the task including: sawing; filing & emerying; soldering; forging and annealing; bezel setting; finishing and polishing. For larger trinkets requiring more silver there will be additional material charges. Standard size is 5cm x 3.5cm x 3cm (L x W x H) which is included in the fee.

Introduction to Silver Jewellery Making £250

This is a 3 Day Course. You will learn how to make simple pieces of jewellery e.g. a ring, earrings and a pendant.  No previous experience is required.  All tools for the courses are provided including a starter kit of silver and copper sheet and silver wire.  Any additional materials can be bought from us e.g. silver wire, silver sheet, beads etc. You will learn all the basic techniques required to make beautiful silver jewellery including: art & design; marking out; sawing; filing & emerying; texturing; various soldering techniques; wirework; hammering & shaping;  and finishing and polishing.  You can expect to make 2 or 3 items depending on the complexity of your designs.

Bezel Stone Setting 2 or 3 day £150 / £250

2 or 3 Day Course focusing on the precision techniques required to set stones successfully.  Materials are included  and we have a range of cabochons to choose from here at the workshop, but you are welcome to bring your own.  Any stones you wish to use for this starter class must be either oval, round or a teardrop shape.  The size should not be smaller than 7 mm.  If you have previous experience 2 days is adequate. If you are new to silversmithing 3 days is recommended but it’s always the customer’s choice, we will work with you to finish the task in the time frame chosen!
